Sir Arthur Conan Doyle A Study In Scarlet Writing Location

According to the web search results, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote his first book, A Study in Scarlet, in England in 1886. He was working as a medical officer on a steamer travelling between Liverpool and West Africa at the time.

He wrote the story in three weeks and submitted it to several publishers before it was accepted by Ward Lock & Co. and published in Beeton’s Christmas Annual in 1887.

The story introduced the famous detective Sherlock Holmes and his friend Dr. Watson, who would become the protagonists of many more novels and stories by Conan Doyle.
